film analysis: Megamind.

ordinary world: living the notorious life of a villian. yet always failing in missions and often being caught.

call to adventure: trying to become hero by creating new inventions that always fail. trying to top mr. goody-two-shoes, Metroman. (original hero)

refusal to call: Megamind decides that his real calling in life is to be the villian, so he stops trying to take over as hero, but decides to fulfill his villianous acts and behavior.

meeting with the mentor: Minion, his sidekick, and Megamind decide they are going to conquer Metro-man by striking him with the power of the sun. They decide that they can do it and they set up what needs to be done to accomplish their plan.

crossing the threshold: they conquer Metro-man. they themselves didn't even think that it would really work but they do, and now Megamind gains control over the town just as he has always dreamed.

tests, allies, enemies: after destructing the town, Megamind becomes bored... receiving ridicule from Roxanne, the town's lead news reporter, Megamind starts to question his motives and desire to take over the town. he starts to fall in love with Roxanne and losing the friendship of his best friend Minion, because he didn't stick to the plan.

approach: Megamind decides that he doesn't want to be the villian anymore. he wants to become the real, true hero, and to win the heart of Roxanne. in doing so, he decides to create another villian to take his place.

ordeal: Titan (newly created villian) turns on Megamind and disgards the plan because he finds out that his lifetime love, Roxanne as well, has become close with Megamind, his leader and trainer. Titan becomes angry and decides to destroy Megamind, instead of the city.

reward: Megamind has to truly save the town and the towns people realize that he truly is a hero. he threatens Titan to leave the town, and he does, leaving Roxanne to fully trust and him and gaining respect from the city.

the road back: Megamind takes on the roll of being hero, and people respect him for who he is and what he has done.

resurrection: Titan returns to the town and Megamind's full potential is realized while literally falling to his death. he realizes that the town really does need him now and revives himself to pull things together and to conquer Titan one and for all.

return with elixir: Megamind gets the girl, gets the town, and goes on living life as the hero he was born to be.

call from the ordinary world.

I'm a senior with a month left of high school. I've been accepted to the college of my choice, I have my apartment reserved, my classes registered, and I'm ready to get out of the house. High school has been fun and in a way I wish i could stay her...but it's time for me to move on.
But the day of graduation came around and something went wrong. My high school years had be reset and I was in for the trip of a lifetime...reliving my high school experience.
But this time I was able to see how each one of my friends, my peers, my teachers reacted, truly felt, and said when I wasn't around.
Second time around and it was time for me to impact the people's lives around me for the better.

jealousy...

Invictus.
By William Ernest Henley.

This poem has so much power. so much strength.
"I thank whatever gids may be For my unconquerable soul."
It talks about the crazy misfortunes, but powerful and conquerable he still comes out on top.
Words of confidence.
I wish I had the strength to be this powerful.
This powerful over myself.
To keep pushing, keep fighting, come off unconquerable.

What is Love?

Love is...
.setting aside your fears to help someone conquer theirs.
.jumping into water to save a life when you can't swim.
.quitting your job to be with your family.
.taking the bullet.
.carrying your child across the finish line.
.cancelling your plans to do what someone else wants to do.
.forgetting your anger and emotions to make someone else happy.
.letting that disabled boy swing the last bat in a tie breaker game.
.finding yourself thinking about nothing but the less fortunate.
.locking down a hospital and holding guns to heads until your boy gets his heart.

My Boulevard of Broken Dreams

I walk alone. I walk alone.
Blowing across the road are thousands of dollar bills representing the scholarship money that would have paid for college, if I would have taken the time to prepare.
To the left of me I see myself as the athlete I was.
To the right of me I see the weak, unhealthy thing I have become.
Tore down, rusted billboards with pictures of my family. If only I would have taken the time to appreciate them.
Up ahead there's the old job of mine I had. Giving it up with good reasoning, but not great.
I could have been farther in life if I would have kept hold of the things I had going for me.
I walk alone. I walk alone.
As I pass I see familiar faces. The peers from high school that I "knew," but didn't really know. Simply because I didn't take the time.
Friends. I hear from a distance as I watch them gossip of those who were less fortunate. But I don't stop them... I didn't stop them.
The road drags on as I weap in tears.
But what I realize, is this is just "My boulevard of broken dreams."
It is simply, a reality check.

Like Shakespeare thinks about poetry.
I'm thinking about you like peanut butter thinks about jelly.
Like nerds think about books.
Like Ali thinks about Roberto.
I'm thinking about you like a sweettooth thinks about sugar.
Like dirty clothes think about laundry detergent.
Like cupid thinks about love.
I'm thinking about you like birds think about music.
Like the birds think about the bees.
I'm thinking about you.

Welcome to My System

I want to write what comes to my mind. As simple as that.
I want my writing to be spontaneous.
Progression, failure, knowledge, weakness that becomes strength.
Friends, schooling, attitude, direction, motivations, dedications and inspirations.
Some posts may be deep and sophisticated, and some will be simply blunt, fun and spontaneous.
I hate complete sentences, so don't count on those.
As well as long sentences.
I enjoy and appreciate this as an assignment because otherwise it wouldn't work.
I will begin to be consistent in something.
I am doing this for a grade...but in the end it will become significant.
